Why did I go through all the trouble setting this up?

Someone did this to my car on July 20th, 2004.

My fiance and me were not happy, to say the least, so I decided to set up a camera
so if something happened, we could find out who it was.
The police wasn't able to do much except take a report.
I decided to take the law into my own hands.

Why am I putting all this online?

Well, it's simple really. It makes me feel better. :) The perpetrator who did this made our lives hell for about 3 months and cost me $2,000 in damage and video equipment to catch him. It turned out he lived in our own apartment building! Before this happened, the same person had signed for a couple of our UPS packages and OPENED THEM. He has no respect for anything.

After all this, the apt. manager offered no apology and when we left they charged me a $700 "cleaning fee" after only being there 1 year, so I only got half my deposit back. Well, now I get to tell my story to the world. So if I were you, I wouldn't recommend living at this building because the management seems to take in anyone. And the rent's not cheap either. I was paying $1,300/mo. and that was 2004. It's probably up to $1,700+ by now.

If this site gets a lot of hits and there is interest, I may detail how I did it. There has to be many out there who'd like to set up such a trap.
